For the last five years or so I’ve been going out to Chicago once or twice a year to visit old friends, make new friends, play music, see art, and to soak up some inspiration from the city’s very fertile jazz and improvised music community. There’s a recording out now on Porto Franco records featuring one of my favorite combinations of the folks I’ve been playing with out there over the years, Jeb Bishop on trombone, Jason Adasiewicz on vibes, Nate McBride on bass, and Frank Rosaly on drums.
